Amazon Expands Presence In Tempe, Adds Jobs
The tech giant will add 500 new jobs in the Tempe area with the lease of a new building near Tempe Town Lake.

PHOENIX — Amazon is expanding its reach in Arizona once again with the lease of a new building near Tempe Town Lake's technology hub. The tech giant, already one of the state's largest employers, will also add 500 new jobs.
The company announced it would lease 90,000 square feet of office space in an under-construction building at 100 S. Mill Avenue in the heart of downtown Tempe, north of Arizona State University's main campus. Amazon has other office space nearby and currently employs 17,500 full-time and part-time workers in Arizona, the company said Tuesday.
"We’ve been able to hire great talent in Phoenix and our teams here have been developing some of Amazon’s latest inventions – now we want to double down on our hiring efforts in the city,” said Doug Welzel, site lead at the company's Phoenix corporate office, in a statement. “We look forward to continue working with the wider Phoenix community and local leaders to attract and develop the best innovators in the region and become a new source of growth for the city’s economy.”
