Arrest Made After 3 Found Slain In Vacant Lot: Reports

WEST PHOENIX, AZ — A man was reportedly taken into custody Wednesday night after two men and a teen were found dead in a vacant lot in West Phoenix.

Sgt. Philip Krynsky identified the suspect as 21-year-old Juan Vargas.

As Phoenix Patch previously reported, the bodies of Herminio Perez Ramirez, 28; Isauro Martinez Dominguez, 21; and Abimael Jimenez Morenos, 16, were found Feb. 20 near 99th Avenue and Mobile Lane. All appeared to have been severely beaten.

The victims were immigrants from Mexican who were heading to Milwaukee, the Consulate General of Mexico in Phoenix told 12News. They hailed from Santo Domingo Tepuxtepec, Oaxaca, Mexico and had immigrated north to the United States in September in search of a better life, family members told the TV station.

The three had lived in Phoenix for about a month and worked as restaurant dishwashers, a family member said.
