  1. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has sued the City of Phoenix. The lawsuit is in connection to the recent displacement of unhoused people and their belongings. According to the lawsuit, the city's ordinances are "criminalizing homelessness." This is the third lawsuit regarding the city's handling of homelessness issues. (The Arizona Republic)
  2. The Phoenix Police Department has opened an investigation into a fire that occurred in the area of 9th Avenue and Buchanan Street. A Phoenix Fire Department crew located a burned male body among the fire's debris after extinguishing the flames. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner is working to determine the cause of death of the man. (12 News)
  3. School officials notified Desert Shadows Elementary School parents about an online threat on Thursday. The Phoenix school was the target of an online chat room comment threatening to "kill all 6th graders" at the school. The Phoenix Police Department is investigating. (AZ Family)
