Children's Book Author Gramps Jeffrey Inspires Grandparents

Author Gramps Jeffrey Speaks Out About the Importance of Grandparents Influencing the Younger Generation

Children’s book author, Marc Joseph who is known by his pen name Gramps Jeffrey is on a mission to make certain that grandparents everywhere know the positive influence that they can, and should have on their grandchildren’s life. Joseph, “Gramps Jeffrey” recalls a statistic originally cited by Cherin and Furstenberg, through its sociology study “Grandparents and Family Crisis” specifically that, “30% of baby boomers are considered "remote" grandparents who are really not involved in helping to influence and raise their grandkids, meaning that they rarely see their grandkids and their contact may only be for birthdays and holidays, Joseph states, “I am out to change that because in today's world of technology it takes a "village" to raise this newest and greatest generation. This message is not only for grandparents, but for the parents to make an effort to get their parents more involved. “ Marc Joseph’s first book, “The Secrets of Retailing…How to Beat Walmart,” was written to help entrepreneurs and small businesses compete against the large, big box stores. The Secrets of Retailing, Or: How to Beat Wal-Mart!.
Following the launch of his first book, Joseph stated in a recent interview that Ariana Huffington had read his book, and then asked him to become a contributor to The Huffington Post.” Joseph has written close to 100 articles for the publication. His articles can be read at Marc Joseph | HuffPost. The articles range from topics covering small business, education, family, the elderly, the homeless and other topics relating to charitable causes.

According to Joseph as a grandparent himself, "he understands the positive impact grandparents can have by actually engaging with their grandchildren and being involved with their lives." Marc Joseph as Gramps Jeffrey is featured on many podcasts, as he advocates through his platform the importance of “grandparents taking an active role in maintaining a relationship in their grandchildren’s lives.” As Joseph states, “We cannot lose sight that grandparents help teach kids values. We also help to strengthen their moral compass and help advance their language skills. I know that the more social support grandparents can give to parents, the more bandwidth this gives the parent to just be a good parent.“

I Don’t Want to Turn Three” is a book about a two year old not wanting to turn three, because he realizes that he will not be able to ‘get away” with the behavior that was tolerated when he was two years old.” This book was inspired by his grandchildren, who he spent a great deal of time with during the pandemic. Joseph’s granddaughter has inspired his forthcoming book titled, “I Don’t Want to Turn 10,” according to Joseph, “"she said these very words to me right after she turned 9". Gramps Jeffrey will release his second children’s book, “I Don’t Want to Turn 4,” in 2023.

Joseph, “Gramps Jeffrey” would love to see his books in every bookstore, at schools, libraries, daycare facilities, children’s museums, and also
retirement homes, so that the elderly population has this book as just one more way to communicate and connect with the youngest generation.
