Here are the top stories today in Phoenix:

  1. Local hotels say that the city's policy of not allowing out-of-state sports teams to play in tournaments on city-owned property is hurting their business. One hotel owner claims that he's lost more than $400,000 due to the policy, which also costs the city tax revenue. (KJZZ)
  2. Phoenix and other cities with already-scorching temperatures continue growing even as the threat of climate change looms. Both Maricopa County and Clark County, the home of Las Vegas, were two of the nation's five fasted-growing counties in the U.S., according to the 2020 Census. That growth means officials need to ensure that these cities and their people can withstand the heat. (Associated Press)
  3. The start of winter in Phoenix is looking to be mostly sunny and dry but with possible rain for Black Friday shoppers. AccuWeather recently released its daily forecasts through the end of December, providing day-by-day predictions for Phoenicians wanting to plan early for upcoming outdoor activities. (Phoenix Patch)
  4. A Phoenix woman paid off tens of thousands in debt and is supporting her family by finding deals on things like clothes and shoes and then reselling them. She has an eye for both fashion and discounts and typically looks to sell items for double what she paid for them. She estimated that she usually makes around $5,000 per month. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
