- A woman reported a sexual assault in 2016 that she said was perpetrated by a Phoenix police sergeant. The Phoenix police lieutenant she reported it to is now under investigation for failing to investigate the assault. (Phoenix New Times)
- Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich threatened to cut off Maricopa County's state-shared funding if the county doesn't comply with a subpoena from the Senate requesting information and items related to the 2020 general election. The subpoenaed items were meant to inform the controversial election audit. (Patch)
- The national design firm Clayco broke ground Thursday in Downtown Phoenix on a 26-story residential tower called Skye on 6th. The structure will offer apartments, retail space and a parking garage as well as amenities like a sauna and an outdoor pool and spa. (AZ Big Media)
- Muska Haseeb, a 25-year-old Afghan refugee who now lives in Phoenix, hopes to inspire others who recently fled the country. She and her family left when she was 12. Now she's prepping for pre-med classes at the University of Texas. (AZFamily)
