A Deadly Halloween Weekend In Phoenix: 3 Men Killed

Two of the men were shot and another was stabbed, according to Phoenix police.

PHOENIX, AZ — Three men were killed in separate incidents in Phoenix over the holiday weekend, according to Police.

Two of the men were shot to death and the third was stabbed, police said.

Jorge Escareno, 39, was shot to death late Saturday night, according to police. Jose Rodolfo Garcia Avila, 21, was stabbed to death early Sunday morning, police said. Another man was shot to death early Sunday morning, but he has not been publicly identified.

Around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Escareno was shot while leaving a party near the intersection of 10th Street and Southern Avenue, police said. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital, according to police.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday, Avila and a woman were stabbed near the intersection of 10th Avenue and Buckeye Road while in a fight with a man who police did not identify. The woman's injuries were not life-threatening, according to police. They were both taken to the hospital, where Avila was pronounced dead.

Around 2 a.m. Sunday a man was shot near the intersection of 9th Avenue and Jackson Street. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Police are investigating what led up to the shooting. They did not identify the man.
