PHOENIX, AZ — Temperatures bounced back to sweltering this week, after a respite thanks to the Monsoon. The expected high in Phoenix Wednesday was 111 degrees with the possibility of temperatures as high as 115 Thursday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service issued an excessive heat warning from 10 a.m. Wednesday through 8 p.m. Friday.

This means that trails on Camelback Mountain and Piestewa Peak will be closed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The city just this summer began closing those trails during the hottest part of the day for the duration of excessive heat warnings.
