- Fall in Phoenix came in hot Wednesday with a high of 103 degrees. That's 4 degrees above normal. It could be the start of a warmer-than-usual fall in the Valley, according to predictions from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. (Phoenix Patch)
- The Amara, a 302-unit apartment building in Phoenix, just sold to a private buyer in Washington state for $60 million. A recent survey of commercial real estate investors put Phoenix as one of the top 10 target markets among metropolitan areas in the United States. (AZ Big Media)
- One local economist does not expect to see Phoenix area housing prices take a dramatic fall anytime soon, even as the national housing market lost some steam in August. The average cost of a Maricopa County house in August was $410,000, almost $100,000 more than just one year ago. (KTAR.com)
- The U.S. Senate parliamentarian's choice not to include immigration reform in its budget deal was a major blow to immigration advocates.
