1. Fall in Phoenix came in hot Wednesday with a high of 103 degrees. That's 4 degrees above normal. It could be the start of a warmer-than-usual fall in the Valley, according to predictions from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. (Phoenix Patch)
2. The Amara, a 302-unit apartment building in Phoenix, just sold to a private buyer in Washington state for $60 million. A recent survey of commercial real estate investors put Phoenix as one of the top 10 target markets among metropolitan areas in the United States. (AZ Big Media)
3. One local economist does not expect to see Phoenix area housing prices take a dramatic fall anytime soon, even as the national housing market lost some steam in August. The average cost of a Maricopa County house in August was $410,000, almost $100,000 more than just one year ago. (KTAR.com)
4. The U.S. Senate parliamentarian's choice not to include immigration reform in its budget deal was a major blow to immigration advocates. That includes thousands of immigrant youths in Arizona who hoped for a pathway to citizenship, as well as others who are undocumented immigrants. Now activists in Arizona are pushing Sen.
