Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:
- According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, metro Phoenix inflation continues to rise but the rate has declined. The federal report was issued on Thursday. The Phoenix area has experienced a 12.1 percent increase in consumer prices over the last year. The national average was 7.7 percent. Inflation was 1.4 percent from August to October in the metro area. (KTAR.com)
- The Phoenix Fire Department memorialized one of its firefighters on Thursday with a memorial service in Peoria. Chris Carter, 35, died on Sep. 23, 2022, during a Highway 93 collision. He had been with the department since 2019. (12news.com KPNX)
- The Phoenix Fire Department is receiving claims that ambulance service was denied to multiple individuals. The concerns were voiced last summer. According to the reports, department paramedics would try to convince patients to not go to a hospital or to find alternate transportation. The department is launching an investigation after an incident was caught on doorbell camera footage. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
