Girls Found Dead In Phoenix Are Identified, No Update On Mother

Their mother suffered stab wounds that police believe were self-inflicted.

PHOENIX, AZ — The two children who were found dead in a Phoenix home Wednesday evening were 4-year-old Royal McIntyre and 9-year-old Aleyah McIntyre, according to Phoenix police.

The police did not provide any update Friday on the condition of their mother, who suffered stab wounds that night that police believed were self-inflicted. As of Friday, no arrests had been made.

The two girls were found dead in a bed at a home near the intersection of 13th Street and Mountain View Road, police said. A medical examiner had not determined their cause of death as of Friday morning.

The mother was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her wounds and was expected to survive, according to police.

When first responders arrived at the home, a man was outside pleading for help, according to police. The man, who police say was cooperative, was detained and later released.
