Here are the top stories today in Phoenix:

  1. Phoenix's homeless population is seeing a big surge in cases of COVID-19. A hotel where homeless people with COVID-19 can isolate has been running at near capacity and the organization that provides the local homeless with health care is seriously understaffed. (Associated Press)
  2. Two fire departments worked together Thursday to rescue a man from a Glendale storm drain. The man told rescuers he'd been down there since Tuesday, but they couldn't confirm whether his story was true. (Phoenix Patch)
  3. Phoenix is No. 3 in the nation for new data center construction, according to a new report. Prices for data center and industrial land have gone up between 20-40 percent in the last year. The city also ranked No. 3 for data center absorption. (AZ Big Media)
  4. An "anonymous barista in Phoenix" is sick of poor treatment and rude behavior from customers. Some of her pet peeves are people who don't get off their phones while ordering and those who get mad that their names are misspelled on their disposable cups. (12news)
