Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:
- A pedestrian was killed on Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in South Phoenix. Nakita Lupe was pronounced deceased at the crash scene around 11:45 p.m. Another driver crashed into a police vehicle during the investigation. An officer was injured during the collision and was transported to a local hospital. The second driver was booked into jail due to exhibiting signs of impairment. (12news.com KPNX)
- Multiple individuals were found dead in a Phoenix home on Wednesday morning on Augusta Avenue. The deaths are being investigated as a homicide by the Phoenix Police Department. Natural gas was found at the scene, but the bodies reportedly displayed signs of trauma. Southwest Gas has released a statement claiming that were no leaks on the property. (Phoenix Patch)
- The City of Phoenix is seeking development proposals for a grocery store and medical services at the corner of 24th Street and Broadway Road. The site has been vacant since 1999. Local residents of the area have expressed the desire for a grocery store and medical services at the location. (Subscription: The Arizona Republic)
