Here are the top stories today in Phoenix:
- Phoenix hotels lost hundreds of millions of dollars due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But the losses to hotel revenue in Phoenix and Arizona were much less severe than the hits that hotels in other cities and states took. (KJZZ)
- Former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio announced Tuesday his intention to run for mayor of Fountain Hills in 2022. If he wins, he'll be 90 years old when he takes office. Arpaio has lived in Fountain Hills for more than 20 years. (KTAR.com)
- Vanguard was named to the list of Arizona's Most Admired companies in 2021. Vanguard is an investment management company based in Malvern, Pennsylvania. It has had a location in Scottsdale for 27 years. Companies considered for the Most Admired list are judged based on things like innovation, social responsibility and workplace culture. - A Phoenix mother and her baby were shot to death by the woman's estranged husband Monday night, according to police. The husband was taken into custody at the scene. (Phoenix Patch)
