Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:
- If you're planning to drive along Interstate 10 this weekend, expect some detours. Starting today (Friday, Oct. 28) at 10:00 p.m., a section of I-10 will be closed between SR 51 and US 60 for work on the Broadway Curve improvement project. The closures are expected to continue through Monday, Oct. 31, at 4:00 a.m. (Daily Independent)
- Phoenix Country Day School was ranked as the best private high school in Arizona, according to the education research platform Niche. The Paradise Valley-based institution has 750 students, a student-teacher ratio of 7:1, and a 100 percent graduation rate. Additional information on ranking factors and participating schools can be found at the link. (24/7 Wall St. - Phoenix)
- A Phoenix-based clinic was raided by the DEA last week, resulting in the arrest of the clinic owner, a doctor, and employees. Diamond Family Care, located near 75th Avenue and Indian School Road, was investigated by authorities last Thursday and was almost entirely cleaned out by Wednesday. Clinic owner Yvette Porras-Ochoa is accused of possessing and distributing illegal substances; investigators say Dr. George Martinez-Aviles and other employees were also "in on the crime."
