  1. Phoenix is one of the flagship locations for March On For Voting Rights, a group of nationwide marches aimed at demanding Congress do more to protect voting rights. The events are set for today, Aug. 28, to honor the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech. The Phoenix event is set to be indoors in place of a march, due to the heat, and attendance will be limited to 600 people. (Phoenix Patch)
  2. A home in a prestigious Paradise Valley community is on the market for $6.5 million. The ritzy home comes with five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a wine cellar, sauna and theater. (AZFamily)
  3. If you're interacting with a Phoenix-area police officer, chances are that person has not been vaccinated, and the department the officer works for might not even know. (Phoenix New Times)
  4. The preseason Arizona Cardinals vs. New Orleans Saints game, set for today, was pushed up 7 hours and then canceled as Hurricane Ida looms closer and closer to the Louisiana coast. The hurricane is expected to make landfall by Sunday. (Patch)
