Are you ready for some béisbol?
The Mexican Winter Baseball League will travel to Phoenix, Mesa and Tucson as part of its version of spring training.
PHOENIX, AZ — The Mexican Winter Baseball league is coming to Arizona for the Mexican Baseball Fiesta series.
A big rivalry game between the teams from Hermosillo and Obregon is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at American Family Fields of Phoenix, the home of the Milwaukee Brewers spring training, according to a news release.
The series is the Mexican winter league's version of spring training. This is the league's ninth year to visit Arizona.

“I am thrilled to welcome the opening game of Mexican Baseball Fiesta to District 5’s very own American Family Fields of Phoenix, located in the heart of Maryvale,” said Phoenix City Councilwoman Betty Guardado in the news release. “This event is like no other baseball event, live music, dancing mascots, authentic Mexican food in a family friendly, affordable, and safe outdoor setting. I encourage residents to attend and get a taste of the spirit of Mexican Baseball.”
Guardado and her team plan to attend the game to meet residents and provide information on community resources, according to the news release.

Tickets are $15 for box seats, $10 for general admission and $6 for children ages 6-16 and for senior citizens.
The city plans to provide free COVID-19 testing and vaccinations to game attendees. Those who get vaccinated at the stadium prior to the game will be admitted for free.
