More Than 1 Million Cases Of COVID Have Been Recorded In Arizona

Health officials reported Friday that the state has passed 1 million officially recorded cases of the virus since the pandemic began.

PHOENIX, AZ — The Arizona Department of Health reported Friday that the state passed 1 million cases of COVID-19 and 18,724 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Just on Friday the state added 3,707 cases and 63 deaths to its totals.

Out of that 1,001,871 overall total, 633,745 cases were recorded in Maricopa County and 126,442 were in Pima County.

More than 7 million vaccine doses have been given in Arizona and 55 percent of the state's population has been fully vaccinated, according to the department of health.
