Phoenix At 13th-Wettest Monsoon With 1 Month To Go

The rainfall total at Phoenix Skyharbor Airport is 3.88 inches since June 15

PHOENIX, AZ — The city is in the midst of its 13th-wettest Monsoon so far, with 3.88 inches of rain recorded at Skyharbor Airport from June 15 through Sept. 1, according to the National Weather Service.

Phoenix recorded 18 days with measurable rain so far this season, the second-most days with rain on record since 1896, the weather service said.

Official Monsoon rainfall totals so far this year were .17 inches in June, 1.73 inches in July, 1.54 inches in August and .43 for Sept. 1.

Total recorded rainfall in Phoenix so far for all of this year is 4.94 inches, which is above the normal total up to Sept. 2 of 4.83 inches, according to the weather service.

The Monsoon officially ends Sept. 30.
