An apartment complex in Phoenix caught fire early Friday. One person reportedly died.

PHOENIX — One person died after an apartment complex in Phoenix caught fire early Friday, according to reports.

The blaze broke out on the first floor of a two-story building near 37th Avenue and Camelback Road, according to reports. Heavy smoke billowed from the building. Fire crews prevented flames from reaching the second floor.

A man was found dead inside a damaged unit, KPNX-TV reported.
