2 Dead In Officer Involved Shooting
The shooting occurred near the intersection of 24th Street and Thomas Road, police said.
PHOENIX, AZ — Two people are dead following an officer involved shooting at a hotel near the intersection of 24th Street and Thomas Road in Phoenix, according to police.
A man, who Phoenix police said was a fugitive, and a woman who was with him were both shot and killed, police said.
An Arizona Department of Public Safety Officer and a Maricopa County Adult Probation Officer were involved in the shooting, police said. The officers were not injured, police said.

The man shot himself in the head with a hand gun as he and the woman ran from officers attempting to arrest him, police said. The woman then picked up the gun and pointed it at the officers, and the officers shot her, police said. Both the man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The Phoenix Police Department is leading the ongoing investigation into the shooting, police said.
