Meet some of the hornbills who call the Phoenix Zoo home!

Sylvester is a 23-year-old male rhinoceros hornbill who has had five offspring (two of which are still at the Phoenix Zoo). Our resident wrinkled hornbill family includes mom (10-years-old), dad (nine-years-old), their five-month-old offspring and Phoenix, a nine-year-old female rhinoceros hornbill.

Love Hornbills Day is celebrated on February 13, the day before Valentine's Day, because hornbills are a symbol of eternal love and fidelity (they are monogamous and mate for life).
