  1. The city's decision to close some of its hiking trails this summer on excessive heat warning days was a controversial one, but the Phoenix Fire Department says that it made for fewer dramatic rescues on Camelback Mountain and Piestewa Peak. (KJZZ)
  2. Crews searching a remote part of the West Valley for missing Phoenix man Daniel Robinson found a human skull. But the skull doesn't belong to Robinson. The skull was found July 31 but authorities just recently confirmed it was not Robinson's. Robinson went missing June 23. (KTAR.com)
  3. If you're looking for seasonal work to help pay the bills or to buy some special holiday gifts, there are a plethora of opportunities in the Phoenix metro area. Amazon, FedEx and Target are all hiring seasonal positions, in addition to many more employers in the Valley. (Phoenix Patch)
  4. John Legend is back on tour, and this Saturday he will be at the Arizona Federal Theatre in downtown Phoenix. The tour, his first since 2018, is in support of his album "Bigger Love" which came out last year. Fittingly, he described the tour so far as "a lovefest." (Phoenix New Times)
  5. Phoenix ranks No. 3 in the nation for percentage of homes flipped in the second quarter of 2021. The amount of homes being flipped increased across the nation during that time, but profit margins sank to a 10-year low. (AZ Big Media)
