Tow Truck Driver Shot And Killed, Police Look For Leads

Evanni Corona was shot Wednesday evening in Phoenix.

PHOENIX, AZ — A 31-year-old tow truck driver was shot and killed early Wednesday evening, according to Phoenix police.

Police are in the process of developing information on a suspect, Phoenix police said in a news release.

Evanni Corona was in a tow truck just before 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 3600 block of West Buckeye Road when it was initially reported that he was stabbed, according to a news release from Phoenix police. But when officers arrived they saw that he suffered from what looked like a gunshot wound.

Corona was take to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
