- Two children are dead and a woman suffered injuries that police said were self-inflicted in a Wednesday evening tragedy in Phoenix. A man was outside the home begging for help when first responders arrived on scene, police said. (Patch)
- Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone said that local law enforcement have not identified any "specific issues" related to security concerns coming up on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. But he added that law enforcement should be vigilant at all times. (KTAR.com)
