  1. The Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is experiencing delays and cancellations as a winter storm sweeps the country. Almost 50 flights have been delayed and almost a dozen canceled. The weather forecast predicts heavy snow, ice, flooding, and winds today (Dec. 22) through Saturday. (U.S. News & World Report)
  2. On Wednesday morning, police were in a standoff with a suspect for hours before finally taking the suspect into custody. The standoff occurred in the Laveen neighborhood near 43rd and Southern avenues. Police reported the event as an officer-involved shooting, which means an officer fired their weapon. (KTAR.com)
  3. Phoenix city officials, including Mayor Kate Gallego, are celebrating the final pipe installation in the Drought Pipeline Project. The pipeline aims to provide water in the event of shortages of Colorado River water. Construction of the pipeline began in May 2021 and will be completed at the beginning of 2023 with testing throughout the year. (Arizona's Family)
