  1. The City of Yuma is currently accepting nominations for its 2022 Tribute of the Muses arts awards. The program is meant to recognize the community's artists that make significant contributions to Yuma. Nominations are due by Sept. 9 for consideration.   2. A Yuma-based prep boys soccer club will be competing in nationals. The tournament gathers the best clubs from across the country and lets them compete in North Carolina. The RSL-AZ Yuma 03 Boys Quintana soccer club has raised about $10,000 to transport the team to North Carolina but they still need to raise another $20,000. The team will leave for the competition on Jul. 5. (KYMA)
  3. Border Patrol agents have discovered more than 120 pounds of methamphetamine in a corridor known to transport drugs from Yuma up to Phoenix. The patrol agents arrested a woman transporting the drugs worth $181,000 in a minivan last Thursday. The Gila Bend area is known for smuggling drugs across the border for national distribution.
