• Vista High School to celebrate Class of 2025 winter graduation (yumaunion.org) — Vista High School’s Class of 2025 winter graduation is set for Thursday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. in Yuma High School’s Taylor Dean McBride Auditorium, with more than 50 students receiving diplomas. Families can attend in person or watch live on Vista’s Facebook page, with a replay on Yuma Union High School District’s YouTube channel the next day.
   

• Canadian snowbirds hesitate to return to Yuma amid political and economic concerns (kawc.org) — Canadian snowbirds appear to be visiting Yuma in smaller numbers this season, raising concerns for local RV parks, tourism businesses, and the roughly 800 jobs tied to Canadian spending. Economic tensions, a weaker Canadian dollar, and new U.S. travel rules are discouraging some retirees, though many longtime visitors say Yuma’s warm weather and activities still keep them coming back.
   

• GOP lawmakers question management of AZ trust land, accuse Hobbs of 'demonizing' some industries (kjzz.org) — Arizona lawmakers are pressing state officials over an audit that faults the land department for poor planning, lease backlogs, and low auction values on state trust land. Yuma Rep. Michele Peña joins fellow Republicans in accusing Gov. Katie Hobbs of slowing development and undermining traditional industries like mining and agriculture, though Hobbs’ office has not yet responded.
