July 4 Festivities
What: City of Yuma's Annual Independence Day Celebration
Where: Ray Kroc Sports Complex, 1280 W. Desert Sun Dr., Yuma
When: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on July 4

The celebration will last from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and feature "one of the most epic fireworks displays in the Southwest," according to organizers. The non-alcoholic celebration will have a variety of snacks and festival food and family-friendly activities like cornhole, a DJ foam party and face painting. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.
What: The Caballeros de Yuma 37th annual Independence Day Flag Raising Ceremony
Where: Yuma Armed Forces Park, 291 Gila St., Yuma
When: 7 a.m. on July 4
This brief but moving ceremony is designed to celebrate the nation's birthday and honor our military heroes. Marine Corps Air Station Yuma's new commanding officer Colonel Jared Stone will serve as the keynote speaker.
What: The Freedom Library Independence Day Celebration
Where: The Freedom Library, 2035 S. Arizona Ave., Yuma
When: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on July 4
The free event features a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Attendees can celebrate American independence by learning about the country's history and what happened to those who signed the Declaration of Independence. Attendees receive a free copy of the Declaration of Independence. The library is located on the north end of the Yuma Sun newspaper building.

Where: Council Avenue Park, 801 Council Ave., Somerton
When: 6 p.m. to midnight on July 1
The event features live performances by Grupo Alazan, The Kings of Queens and Ronda Bogotá de Celso Piña. Also scheduled are a "famous" water balloon fight and an enormous kids area. There also will be a 20-minute fireworks show.

The event will feature a fireworks show, musical performances, activities for kids and delicious food and snacks from local vendors.
