Here are the top three stories today in Yuma:
- The comment period for the proposed closure of a Leaking Underground Storage Tank in Yuma County has officially begun. The tank is owned by Shay Oil Company #6 in Tacna. The tank has met the regulatory requirement for closure based on its groundwater contamination levels. The comment period will end on Jul. 20. (AZDEQ)
- A large group of migrants has flooded the Yuma border wall. The group is mainly comprised of migrants from India, Cuba, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela. Border agents reportedly encountered 239,416 migrants last month. (Daily Caller)
- Unemployment in Arizona remained low last month, but Yuma County still has the highest unemployment rate in the state. Yuma County's rate is at 14.4 percent. The state's unemployment rate is currently at 3.2 percent — lower than the country's 3.6 percent. (The Center Square)
