102-Year-Old Shares Angling Passion with Friends
Residents of a local memory care community spent the day fishing and reminiscing in Little Rock.
For one local, senior a rod and a reel bring back a host of memories. Lucille Noble, age 102, is quite the fisherwomen. She joined her friends at Pinnacle Place, an Anthem Memory Care community, for a day of fishing on the pond at Bass Pro Shop located at 1 Bass Pro Shop.
Noble and her siblings were taught to fish by their father, Isaac, as they grew up in a very rural community in Thida, AR. He taught his seven sons and seven daughters how to fish so that they would have the skills to sustain themselves when times were tough during the depression. Noble, the youngest of the clan, would go fishing every weekend with her siblings.
“We look for engaging activities to share with our residents that help them find purpose,” said Nick Garrison, life engagement director for Pinnacle Place. “It’s important to remind residents experiencing dementia of joyful memories of the past. They can continue to express themselves through their hobbies and try new experiences.”
