Echoes of Empire: Mediterranean Study Abroad Class (ualr.edu) — UA Little Rock students will have a chance next summer to join a 16-day study abroad trip to France and Morocco focused on empire, migration, and memory. Led by two UA Little Rock history professors, the program blends coursework with on-site learning and offers substantial scholarships that lower student costs, with applications due January 28, 2026.
   

2. 3 people are killed in crashes on state roads; 2 others hurt (arkansasonline.com) — A tractor-trailer crash at the I-40/I-30 interchange in North Little Rock early Sunday killed a Texas truck driver, according to Arkansas State Police. Two other deadly wrecks elsewhere in the state this week brought the total to three fatalities and two injuries on Arkansas roads.
   

3. Pine Bluff woman graduates law school in mid-50s while raising eight kids (thv11.com) — A Pine Bluff mother of eight has just graduated from the William H. Bowen School of Law in Little Rock, fulfilling a dream she put on hold for decades. Now in her mid-50s, she credits a special LEAP program, supportive professors, and family for helping her juggle parenting and studies, and hopes her story inspires others in Central Arkansas to pursue long-delayed goals.
   

4. Arkansas residents help decorate White House, State Christmas tree in D.C. (thewynneprogress.com) — Students from the Arkansas School for the Deaf and Blind in Little Rock helped bring a bit of home to Washington, D.C., by crafting ornaments for the State of Arkansas’s Christmas tree in President’s Park. They joined a Jonesboro florist selected to help decorate the White House for the holidays.

Federal Cannabis Policy Could See Historic Change (katv.com) — Little Rock viewers are hearing how a potential Trump executive order to move marijuana to Schedule III could reshape federal cannabis policy and affect Arkansas debates. The report, filed from Little Rock, highlights Sen. Tom Cotton’s cautious response and concerns about high‑potency products, while outlining possible impacts on prosecutions, banking access, and medical research nationwide.
