1. Little Rock Compassion Center receives 250 turkeys, items still needed (kark.com) — A Little Rock shelter just received 250 donated turkeys but still urgently needs ham, canned goods, desserts, hygiene items, and warm clothing to serve hundreds of neighbors this Christmas. Donations can be dropped off on West Roosevelt Street or made online as the Compassion Center prepares daily holiday dinners from Dec. 25–28. 
2. Arkansas Foodbank sets date for Annual Empty Bowls Gala (fox16.com) — Little Rock residents can mark their calendars for March 13, 2026, when the Arkansas Foodbank’s 24th Annual Empty Bowls Gala comes to the Venue at Westwind. The black-tie fundraiser will feature a Night in Black and White theme, live jazz, gourmet food, and honors for longtime supporters Joe and Mary Lynn Copeland, with Cindy and T.J. Boyle serving as Gala Chairs.
3. Man gets 120 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for 2023 double murder in Scott (fox16.com) — A Pulaski County jury in Little Rock has sentenced 26-year-old Devontea Clay to 120 years in prison for the 2023 shooting deaths of two local teens, one from North Little Rock and one from Little Rock. Investigators said the victims’ bodies were found near Highway 161 south of Scott, and authorities noted Clay still faces additional violent-crime charges in multiple states.
4. Rabbi urges pride in faith after Bondi Beach shooting during Hanukkah celebration (katv.com) — In Little Rock, Jewish residents are celebrating Hanukkah with visible pride despite heightened security following a deadly shooting at a celebration in Australia. Rabbi Pinchus Ciment is urging the community to keep displaying menorahs and practicing their faith openly as a show of resilience and solidarity.
5. UCA Aviation Academy celebrates first graduate (501lifemag.com) — A Little Rock native, Zane Harris, has become the first graduate of the University of Central Arkansas Aviation Academy, earning private, instrument, and commercial pilot certificates in just 18 months. Now pursuing flight instructor certification, he plans to return to Conway to teach and help address Arkansas’ pilot shortage, while UCA continues expanding its aviation training opportunities.
