UAPB and LRSD launch hydroponic career pathway at Little Rock school (katv.com) — Students at Little Rock Southwest High School will soon have access to a new hydroponic plant systems career pathway created through a partnership between UAPB and the Little Rock School District. The program offers hands-on training in modern agriculture, including hydroponics and drone technology, with plans to expand to other LRSD schools and provide financial support so more Little Rock students can participate. 
2. Little Rock Fire Department, Entergy Arkansas partner to provide winter coats to students (kark.com) — Little Rock firefighters and Entergy Arkansas employees are making sure local students stay warm by funding and delivering new winter coats through Operation Warm. Every child at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership and Language Academy received a coat, part of a growing Little Rock School District tradition supported by city leaders and fueled by firefighters’ own paycheck donations.
3. City of Little Rock Directors won't ask absent director, Ken Richardson to resign (katv.com) — Little Rock’s Board of Directors has voted not to ask absent Ward 2 Director Ken Richardson to resign, despite his year-long absence for undisclosed medical reasons. He remains in office while the city reviews his request to attend meetings virtually, and Ward 2 residents now only have a citizen-led petition, due Dec. 22, to try to remove him.
4. UA Little Rock Student Brings the World of Insects to Life with New Augmented Reality App (ualr.edu) — A UA Little Rock computer science student has launched Insects AR, a mobile app that uses augmented reality to bring 3D insect models to life. Developed at the university’s Emerging Analytics Center, the project showcases Little Rock–based tech talent and gives students hands-on experience with cutting-edge visualization tools and mobile development.
5. UA Little Rock Alumna Kelsey Norton Advances Dental Hygiene Education Through Service and Leadership (ualr.edu) — A Maumelle resident and UA Little Rock alumna is now shaping future dental hygienists as an assistant professor and community service director at UAMS in Little Rock. She credits UA Little Rock’s flexible, public-health-focused master’s program with preparing her for national leadership honors and ongoing doctoral studies, while emphasizing service, resilience, and compassionate care for underserved communities.
