Driver Killed In Angeles National Forest Crash Near Altadena
Investigators don't know what caused the man to lose control of his car and plunge down a mountainside.

ALTADENA, CA — A man was killed in the Angeles National Forest on Tuesday after his car plunged down a mountainside.
The man’s identity has not been released, pending notification of his family, according to the California Highway Patrol.
He was driving on Big Tujunga Canyon Road, north of Altadena, where he lost control of his vehicle and plunged down the mountainside, authorities said. The crash was reported around 10 p.m. near Los Angeles County Fire Marker 2.92. The man died at the scene.

"For unknown reasons (the) vehicle ran off the roadway ... continued out of control down the mountainside, rolling over an unknown amount of times, before coming to rest 185 feet down the mountainside," the CHP said in a statement.
The case remains under investigation.
