Pasadena Police Plan DUI Patrols For This Weekend

Officers will be on the lookout for anyone driving under the influence in Pasadena on Friday and Saturday.

PASADENA, CA — Police officers plan to crack on any impaired driving this weekend with a pair of DUI patrols.

The patrols will be on the lookout for any drivers suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol on Friday and Saturday, according to Pasadena Police Department Lt. Anthony Russo.

“We want everyone to be as safe as possible, especially when they are on the road,” Russo said in a statement.

In addition to the DUI patrols, police officers will conduct a “Know Your Limit” campaign on Saturday, from 5 p.m. to midnight.

Officers will ask residents who may be out at a bar or restaurant if they had anything to drink at night and whether or not they think it's safe to drive, Russo said. Officers will also inform residents about the consequences of driving under the influence.

“The goal is to help people understand the effects of alcohol so they can make smart decisions about how they get home,” Russo said in a separate statement. “It only takes a few drinks to impair, and that’s why it is important that people know their limit.”

Both the DUI patrols and the “Know Your Limit” campaign are funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
