Convicted Felon From Cabazon Picked Up On Weapons Violation, Warrant

He was arrested out of the county.

INLAND EMPIRE, CA — A convicted felon from Cabazon who allegedly continues to carry firearms despite being banned from doing so was nabbed in Loma Linda this week.

Jonathan Granados, 32, was picked up by a San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy shortly before 10:30 p.m. Monday.

According to the law enforcement agency, the deputy conducted a traffic stop on Granados near Redlands Boulevard and California Street in Loma Linda. A license check revealed Granados had an active felony warrant out of Riverside County related to firearms offenses, and a subsequent search of his vehicle turned up a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun under the passenger seat.

Granados is being held in San Bernardino County jail on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Additionally, a hold was put on him due to the outstanding warrant.

Court records out of Riverside County show Granados was charged in December 2024 with being a convicted felon and narcotic addict in possession of a firearm. He was also charged with ammunition possession, for which he was prohibited due to his conviction status. According to the charges, the weapon was an unserialized illegal "ghost gun."

Granados failed to appear at his latest court hearing on Nov. 18 in Riverside County, and an arrest warrant was subsequently issued, court records show.
