PHOTOS: Crews Battle Fire In Abandoned Banning Building

Firefighters responded at 9:25 p.m. Saturday to the fire on East Ramsey Street and had it contained in less than an hour, officials said.

BANNING, CA — Fire damaged an abandoned, single-story commercial building in Banning, fire officials said Sunday.

Firefighters dispatched at 9:25 p.m. Saturday to the 700 block of East Ramsey Street, found a fully involved structure with smoke and flames showing coming from the roof, according to reports from the scene.

The roof of the 1000-square-foot structure partially collapsed during the fire, according to a witness, but crews had the fire contained at 10:14 p.m., the Riverside County Fire Department reported.

Firefighters remained at the scene for approximately two hours for overhaul.

No injuries were reported and a cause of the fire was under investigation.
