Man Fatally Stabbed In Broad Daylight Near RivCo Bus Stop: Police
The attacker fled before officers arrived, but a person of interest was later detained, according to police.
RIVERSIDE, CA — A man was fatally stabbed in broad daylight Tuesday near a bus bench in downtown Riverside, according to police.
Officers responded around 12:20 p.m. to University Avenue and Market Street, where they found a man in his 30s suffering from stab wounds, Public Information Officer Ryan Railsback said in an email, adding the man was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
The attacker fled before officers arrived, but a person of interest was later detained, according to Railsback.

Police said in a social media post that there was no threat to public safety. Eastbound University Avenue was closed to vehicles and pedestrians from Market Street to Main Street due to the investigation, according to police, who warned Tuesday afternoon of travel delays in the area.
