$200K In Stolen Merchandise Found In Oakland Home: Police
The search uncovered stolen items from Bay Area stores, including power tools, clothing, medicine and designer handbags, police said.

OAKLAND, CA — Detectives serving a search warrant Wednesday at a home in Oakland discovered hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and stolen items, police said.
The detectives, who were investigating a stolen property case, uncovered a fencing operation, in which people buy and sell stolen property, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
The search uncovered about $200,000 in stolen merchandise from Bay Area stores, including power tools, clothing, medications, designer handbags and accessories, police said. The detectives also found over $85,000 cash, according to police.

“We believe the items and cash are related to multiple retail theft operations,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post. “We are forwarding this case to the Alameda County District Attorney for prosecution.”
