49ers Eddy Piñeiro Kicks It With OPD, Gets Recruitment Pitch: Watch
"Welcome to the Town!" NFL kicker shakes hands, snaps photos, and thanks officers for their service, drawing smiles.
OAKLAND, CA — San Francisco 49ers placekicker Eddy Piñeiro made a quick stop at the Oakland Police Department on Thursday.
The kicker took time to shake hands, snap photos, and thank officers for their service, drawing smiles from around the station — and a few lighthearted laughs when police jokingly reminded Piñeiro that there's always a place for him on the team after his NFL days are done.
"I'm really excited to be here, support the guys," Piñeiro said. "They support us and they're out there on the streets fighting for us. I'm really grateful for the opportunity to be here."

OPD said the crew appreciated the visit, the encouragement, and the love. "If you’re ever looking for a career after the NFL, we’ve got room on our team," OPD Interim Chief James Beere said.
In fact, Piñeiro earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. "I'm ready," he said.
