2nd Annual Asian Cultural Festival Celebrates Diverse Heritage of Asia

Another exciting highlight of the event was the release of Author Dhruva Thapa's Second Cookbook, which features authentic Himalayan dishes

The 2nd Annual Asian Cultural Festival was a vibrant celebration of the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Asia, held on April 23, 2023, at MLK Jr. Civic Center Park in downtown Berkeley. The event was organized by Dharma College and Downtown Berkeley Association and featured food, crafts, and performances by cultural organizations and collectives from all over the Bay Area. One of the festival's main attractions was the live performances and chanting by Venerable Vante from various Asian countries.

Another exciting highlight of the event was the release of Author Dhruva Thapa's Second Cookbook, which features authentic Himalayan dishes made with traditional fermented, sun-dried, and fresh plant-based ingredients. The cookbook was introduced by Wangmo Dixie, the director of Dharma College, and released by Dr. Richard Dixie and Venerable Vantes.

Buddha Nepal Peace Foundation was among the several cultural performances at the festival. If you missed the event, don't worry you can still explore the delicious world of plant-based Himalayan cuisine by purchasing the cookbook on Amazon.
