
BERKELEY, CA — A man who died after being hit by a vehicle in North Berkeley in November has been identified as a 78-year-old from Berkeley, the Alameda County Coroner's Office said.
Benten Bascombe Brown was walking south across Rose Street at Josephine about 6:17 p.m. on Nov. 14 when he was hit by a vehicle going east on Rose, police said.
Brown was taken to Highland Hospital but succumbed to his injuries there.

The driver, a 79-year-old Berkeley woman, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
