Berkeley Bank Robbery Probed

The robber fled the scene by the time responding officers arrived, according to police.

BERKELEY, CA — A Berkeley bank robber got away with an unspecified amount of cash after using a note in the late Monday morning heist, police said.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 60s, about 5 foot 8, with a medium build. He wore a dark jacket, shorts and a mask during the 11:48 a.m. robbery of Mechanics Bank at 2301 Shattuck Ave., police said.

The robber fled the scene by the time responding officers arrived, according to police.
