Berkeley Sexual Battery Suspect Arrested: Cops
The victim is a developmentally disabled person, according to police.
BERKELEY, CA — A suspect was arrested last week in connection with the sexual battery of a developmentally disabled adult victim, the Berkeley Police Department said.
The suspect, identified as a 39-year-old Berkeley man with no address, was arrested on Dec. 9 and charged with battery the next day, police said.
A parking enforcement officer was walking near the downtown Target store at 2187 Shattuck Avenue at around 3 p.m. when she witnessed the crime in progress, police said.

Officers shortly afterward detained the suspect as he was leaving a store, police said.
The parking enforcement officer and another witness identified the suspect, police said.
