Berkeley Traffic Stop Leads To ‘Ghost Gun’ Arrest
A 28-year-old Oakland man was arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded and concealed firearm and driving under the influence, police said.
BERKELEY, CA — A Berkeley traffic stop early Sunday morning led to the discovery of a loaded “ghost gun,” police said.
A 28-year-old Oakland man was arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded and concealed firearm and driving under the influence, police said.
An officer at around 1:35 a.m. pulled over the involved vehicle, which was seen speeding and traveling erratically westbound on University Avenue “without regard for other vehicles or pedestrians in the area,” according to police.

After speaking with the driver, the officer suspected the driver may have been under the influence, police said.
When the driver exited the vehicle, the officer found a loaded non-serialized handgun, also known as a “ghost gun,” concealed in the driver’s waistband, police said.
