BERKELEY, CA — Cal for a second straight week knocked off the nation's top-ranked water polo team.

The No. 5 Golden Bears on Saturday upset No. 1 USC 7-6 in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation opener for both teams.

The Golden Bears (15-2, 1-0 MPSF) on Sept. 25 defeated then-No. 1 UCLA 10-9 in an MPSF Invitational semifinal.

Junior goalie Adrian Weinberg had a career-high 20 saves and All-American Nikos Delagrammatikas had a hat trick against USC (11-1, 0-1).

Jack Deely contributed two assists for Cal, which avenged a 12-11 loss to USC on Sept. 26.
