Earthquake Hits Near Berkeley Saturday

Over 400 people reported feeling the quake near Berkeley Saturday morning, according to the USGS.

BERKELEY, CA — A magnitude 2.9 earthquake struck nearly two miles east south east of Berkeley around 8:45 a.m. on Saturday.

Information from the United States Geological Survey shows that the quake had a depth of about 7 miles.

According to the USGS' self-reporting tool, residents reported feeling the quake as far south as Pacifica and Millbrae. The quake was also felt in other neighboring communities, the map shows.
