Excessive Heat Watch Issued For Berkeley, East Bay: NWS
Temperatures are expected to hit triple digits in parts of the East Bay this weekend with records expected to be broken. Berkeley forecast.
BERKELEY, CA — The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for most of the Bay Area including Alameda County.
The heat watch will be in effect from 11 a.m. Saturday through 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Temperatures are expected to warm later this week and top out over 100 degrees in the interior East Bay Saturday through Monday. In Livermore, new records are expected to be set on Sunday and Monday. Here in Berkeley the Bay will keep us cooler, the hottest temperature expected on Saturday at 90.

“The risk for heat related illnesses is increasing,” the NWS said on the agency’s Facebook page.
“Make sure to hydrate and take cooling breaks if you'll be outdoors. Avoid activities during the heat of the day if possible.”
