Friday Night Movies Premiere June 16 at Live Oak Park
'From the Rough' to kick off Berkeley's Friday Night Movie series.
BERKELEY, CA — Gather up some lawn chairs, blankets and a few of your favorite friends and neighbors and head on over to Live Oak Park Friday for a viewing of "From the Rough," the premier of Berkeley's annual Friday Night Movie series.
The city of Berkeley will show nine movies at a variety of parks spread across the city for the annual event that reaches neighborhoods all across the city from "north to south, the flatlands to the hills, and down to Shorebird Park," the city said in a news release.
Each movie under the stars will be shown on a large 20-foot by 12-foot inflatable movie screen with premium outdoor cinema audio-visual equipment.

Movies and parks scheduled for Friday Night Movies include:
- From the Rough showing on Friday, June 16, from 8:40 to 10:30 p.m. at Live Oak Park, 1301 Shattuck Avenue
- Minions: The Rise of Gru showing on Friday, June 30, from 8:40 to 10:30 p.m. at Strawberry Creek Park, 1260 Allston Way.
- Puss in Boots: The Last Wish showing on Friday, July 14, from 8:40 to 10:30 p.m. at San Pablo Park, 2800 Park Street.
- DC League of Super Pets showing on Friday, July 28, from 8:30 to 10:15 p.m. at James Kenney Park, 1720 8th Street.
- Turning Red showing on Friday, Aug. 11, from 8:15 to 10 p.m. at Cedar Rose Park, 1300 Rose Street.
- Strange World showing on Friday, Aug. 25, from 8 to 9:45 p.m. at Willard Park, 2720 Hillegass Avenue.
- Vivo showing on Friday, Sept. 8, from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. at Glendale La Loma Park, 1310 Glendale Avenue.
- The War with Grandpa showing on Friday, Sept. 22, from 7:15 to 9 p.m. at Codornices Park, 1201 Euclid Avenue.
- Disney Nature - Wings of Life showing on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 7 to 8:45 p.m. at Shorebird Park, 160 University Avenue.
